About the Department

The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in academic year 2007-2008 with an intake of 60 and continues to remain as one of the most sought-after courses. M.E. Power Electronics and Drives is offered from the year 2012-13 with an intake of 24.

Vision

To establish a centre of learning for imparting quality education with cutting edge technology through sustained improvement to achieve excellence in the field of engineering and management with emphasis on knowledge to develop problem solving capabilities and preparing the graduates to meet global requirements with ethical standards.

Mission

  • Equip the graduates with a meticulous learning experience in understanding the concepts of Electrical & Electronics Engineering to achieve a blending of knowledge acquisition with strongly supported laboratory practices and prepare them for professional career.
  • Undertake research and consultancy for industrial and societal needs.
  • To create opportunities for graduates to pursue higher education and take competitive exams and various career enhancing courses.
  • To have regular interaction with industry and offer solutions to their problems.
  • To impart technical knowledge, ethical values for professional development of the student to solve complex problems and to work in multi disciplinary ambience, whose solutions lead to significant societal benefits.

Programme Outcomes (Pos)

Students of the ECE program will, at the time of their graduation, be able to:

  • PO1: An ability to apply knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering subjects.
  • PO2: An ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
  • PO3: An ability to design and conduct experiments to interpret data and analyze the results.
  • PO4: An ability to apply knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering subjects.
  • PO5: An ability to design system components or processes to satisfy the needs of the society within realistic constraints such as economical, social, political, ethical, health, safety and manufacturing.
  • PO6: An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • PO7: An ability to understand professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • PO8: An ability to communicate effectively.
  • PO9: An ability to gain knowledge to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, environmental and societal context.
  • PO10: An ability to understand the need and engage in life-long learning process.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • POE1: Graduates will be able to apply their knowledge acquired in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering courses to provide the solution for complex problems encountered in the modern Engineering practices.
  • POE2: Graduates will be able to achieve employability skills and leadership qualities to serve in their related fields with ethical and social responsibilities.
  • POE3: Graduates will be able to practice their profession in global competitiveness with confidence and interpersonal skills.
